Latest News: Looks like we will not be playing as much any more as "The Sons of the South". Jobs (or lack of), moving out of the area, and illness from family members has taken it's toll on the band. However, we are still going to be putting on the Fourth Annual "Harold Pharr Cancer Fund Raiser on Sept 26th beginning at 4:45PM. The location will be Northview Wesleyan Church in Statesville, NC. See the last page of our website for a line-up of bands. We look forward to seeing you again!

Otay!!!!! Bluegrass fans!
2009 is here and we are tuning up to pick! We just finished up practicing and playing as the opening band for Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver! What a fantastic chance to play for a super group like them.
The band has gone through some transitions, we no longer have a full-time dobro player. Roy Bourne had to leave due to work, but promised to play when his schedule allows. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he can pick with us some this year.
We haven't been jammin' as much as in the past, gas prices, then loss of job, equals "No Money"!!! But I have a new position and hope to do some more pickin again!
I am trying to complie another list for Fiddlers Conventions in NC, but need your help. If you know of any, please drop me a line at:
bgrassguitarpicker@yahoo.com I will put them in a list and post them on our band's website! I will post these on the "MISC" page of our website when we get them all.

Just a Note: Congratulations to Roger Dalton and Joanne on their wedding Aug 4th 2007, (they spent their honey moon at Galax!) Tell Roger congratulations when you see him, Roger and his wife reside in Woodlawn, VA now.
Our Dobro player, Roy almost has his cabin finished which is only about 20 minutes from Galax, looks like we might be spending more time in VA!

Mr. Harold Mitchell, a great fan of Bluegrass music and just about as nice of person as you would want to meet. Great MC work everywhere he goes!
Thanks again to GALAX, VA for the 73rd Fiddlers Convention, we are humbled at being able to place 8th with such great bands and competition!
Another year is almost gone and we had a great time pickin and meeting our friends and making new ones.
